3 Cleaning Hacks That Work & Save Money

My mother-in-law visited recently, when she visits, she likes to help with cleaning, which I appreciate. During this recent visit, I saw her scrub my broom not once but twice with a cleaning brush.  I texted my mom: "She's doing it again." "Am I supposed to be cleaning my broom?" My mom responded that she cleans her broom twice a year, which helps prevent her from purchasing a new one as often. After I finished scolding my mom for failing to teach me this important task, I told many of my friends.  No one from my generation knew this, but it makes sense.  A great way to save money is to not spend it by taking care of what we already own. So, let's address this issue by discussing how to save some money with cleaning.

1    Take care of what you own:

  •  Clean your broom and dustpan to avoid unnecessarily needing to purchase a new one.  Also, I have an indoor and outdoor broom, which you may also consider. I use a dustpan that does not require bending over to make this task less challenging.  I highly recommend this  set:  https://amzn.to/3X4xwc4
  •  Purchase cheap inside shower curtains at places like the dollar store and replace them as needed.  I have done this, and my pretty outside shower curtain lasted 18 years! I clean the outside curtain occasionally by soaking it in the bathtub with laundry soap.
2    Use dish soap to clean the bathroom:  I also learned this from my mother-in-law at her last visit.  Dish soap is usually a lot cheaper than other bathroom products.  I cleaned my shower by squirting a little dish soap, got it wet, and scrubbed it.

3.     3 . Time is money: I hate cleaning the shower because it takes so much time, but this last time, it took me ten minutes to clean the show shower and tub, including hanging up a new curtain. Why? Because I used this electric scrub brush: https://amzn.to/3WMheDt

Why Mami Superhero?

I wear so many hats: a mom, a wife, a student, an employee, a daughter, a sister, a friend, etc. It’s exhausting sometimes but I love my life, especially the mom part. Wearing all those titles is a lot which is why I feel moms are superheroes and even the greatest superhero gets tired or needs help sometimes.  This blog is meant to support other mom’s or parents by sharing stories, laughing mostly at myself, and easier ways to do this. I’m so glad you’re here on this journey with me.  Thanks,  Mami Superhero

Start New Goals With Your Back To School Routine

Goal setting doesn't have to be just for January 1.  A great time to set new goals is when you start a new routine, like when the kids return to school.  Why set goals :  Setting goals gives you something to achieve and look forward to. It helps to motivate you towards your future achievements.  It's easier to see goals when we visualize them .  Maybe you can visualize your goals by closing your eyes; if that doesn't work, try making a vision board .  How to make a vision board : You can take a poster board and put pictures of your dreams or goals, write words, cut words out of magazines, and put up quotes or scriptures to make your vision board a success.  Remember to set long-term and short-term goals. I struggled with fertility but knew someday I would be a mom.  For over ten years, I have had a picture of myself holding a sign that says, "A good mom." Initially, this helped me focus on doing whatever I could to be healthy and foll...
