4 Busy Mom Essentials

Busy Mom Essentials

Being a mom is hardcore. I rarely have time for myself and often have limited time to get ready because I’m taking care of my child, my husband, both dogs and the turtle first.  Sometimes I’m a hot mess, but I try.  I have a few easy essentials that help me keep my sanity.

1. Dry shampoo – This is a huge time saver. If I wash my hair, I have to straighten it and I don’t always have time for that. One way to save time is to wash my hair less often.  It depends on your personal hair needs, but I find using dry shampoo and washing my hair every other day works. I recommend this brand of dry shampoo.  They have full-size and travel-size bottles and different scents.  I like the pink scent best.  However, I recommend the original option if you are sensitive to smells.

2.      Baseball cap – I have a few baseball caps I use for bad hair days; you know, days I didn’t have time to wash my hair, forgot to use dry shampoo, couldn’t straighten my hair, etc. Throwing up my hair in a messy bun or high ponytail is nice.  The hats I wear have several slots depending on how high up on my head I want my ponytail or bun.  It’s nice to have options and be more versatile. Here are two options I love that match everything:

3.Slip-on shoes – I love my black crocs, which look more like dress shoes than traditional crocs.  Get black, and they match everything.  You can dress them up or down.  Due to the material they are made from, I have worn mine to work, on dates, at the beach, out shopping, etc.  They are available in 4 colors: black, dark cherry, petal pink and cobblestone

4. Black leggings – Black leggings are versatile and comfortable.  They can be dressed up or down.  They also are a fast way to get dressed because they don’t require ironing.  I love legging options that have pockets because, as a mom, I never have enough hands.

Why Mami Superhero?

I wear so many hats: a mom, a wife, a student, an employee, a daughter, a sister, a friend, etc. It’s exhausting sometimes but I love my life, especially the mom part. Wearing all those titles is a lot which is why I feel moms are superheroes and even the greatest superhero gets tired or needs help sometimes.  This blog is meant to support other mom’s or parents by sharing stories, laughing mostly at myself, and easier ways to do this. I’m so glad you’re here on this journey with me.  Thanks,  Mami Superhero

Start New Goals With Your Back To School Routine

Goal setting doesn't have to be just for January 1.  A great time to set new goals is when you start a new routine, like when the kids return to school.  Why set goals :  Setting goals gives you something to achieve and look forward to. It helps to motivate you towards your future achievements.  It's easier to see goals when we visualize them .  Maybe you can visualize your goals by closing your eyes; if that doesn't work, try making a vision board .  How to make a vision board : You can take a poster board and put pictures of your dreams or goals, write words, cut words out of magazines, and put up quotes or scriptures to make your vision board a success.  Remember to set long-term and short-term goals. I struggled with fertility but knew someday I would be a mom.  For over ten years, I have had a picture of myself holding a sign that says, "A good mom." Initially, this helped me focus on doing whatever I could to be healthy and foll...
