Mud Run Must Haves
You will get dirty if you're adventurous and willing to overcome all the obstacles. When I say dirty, I mean filthy. I highly recommend you bring the following with you:
· A waterproof phone case. I put my phone in a waterproof phone case my family uses at the beach, and it worked great! Try what I used: https://amzn.to/3SLMQIm I had to tuck it into my bra a few times to move a little easier, but it saved my phone and allowed us to get some cool pictures. By the end of the event, we couldn't use it to take any more pictures because it was too dirty, so bringing a zip log bag with dry clothing or baby wipes to someone's pocket may be a good idea but not necessary. #Affiliate
·
A change of clothes, even new
underwear. I read this before my first event and should have
listened. Don't make the same mistake I made; trust me, you'll need
everything to be clean.
·
Flip flops – I recommend you bring them to the
rinse-off station because you'll want to rinse off your feet after you take
your shoes and socks off and may never use those shoes again.
·
A towel- This can be used to dry off and as a
shield to change after the event. The event I attended had a giant
changing tent with absolutely no privacy. My friend group received more
privacy by taking turns at our vehicle using an open car door and a beach towel
as a shield.
·
Baby wipes – The event will have a station to
get cleaned, but you won't actually shower. The rinse station is a large
outdoor open area with many garden hoses where everyone is rinsing off
together. This station can help you remove the top layer of mud, but
you'll want baby wipes to hold you over until you can get in an actual shower.
·
A cooler filled with water for afterwards
·
If you have a friend willing to come with you to
take pictures and hold keys and your ID, I highly recommend this.
Make The Event Fun By:
·
Joining a team and creating a team name.
·
Get matching shirts. My team found
some great ones on Amazon that I recommend. You can even personalize them more
by cutting off the sleeves or tying up the bottom, making them into a V-neck,
adding diamonds, etc.
·
At the event I went to they provided a bag, headband,
and tattoos, which looked fabulous. I kept mine clean and chose to use them
afterward instead. My team went all girly and did face beads and glitter.
It was fun to see what stayed on and wasn't strong enough to last the entire
event.
·
Celebrate your success individually or with your
team afterwards! Two days after I did my
first one I was my sorest, I recommend celebrating with a pre scheduled
massage.
What Not To Bring:
·
I recommend you don't wear any fun paper or
plastic headbands because mine got caught in the net and went in my friend's
bag.
·
Jewelry- it will just get lost or dirty.
