Part 2 of Goal Setting Any Time
A great time to set new goals is when a new routine happens,
like starting a new job, the kids returning to school, the season changing,
etc. My first article gave ideas about goal setting any time of the
year. If you didn't see my first blog post about goal setting at any time
of the year, I highly recommend you read it by clicking on https://mamisuperhero.blogspot.com/2024/08/start-new-goals-with-your-back-to.html
Find a health partner
A great way to stay on track and be held accountable is to
set goals with a friend or family member. Talk with them about your goals
and how you can support each other. For example, if you have a goal to
exercise, agree to go to the gym or walk together a few days a week.
Check-in on how much water the other person drank or what healthy new recipes
they found that you can also try.
Use technology to your advantage by counting your
steps and logging your calorie and water intake daily. Sometimes, when I
log something and realize how many calories that small thing I ate had, it
helps me make better choices in the future.
Make Healthy Food Choices
Are you eating the right food? Is your nutrition where
it should be? Depending on your situation, you can go to your doctor and
ask for blood work to check for vitamin B, D, and iron. But you can also
do things by ensuring you eat fruits, vegetables, and protein more than carbs
and fat.
Try making overnight oats for breakfast and add
oatmeal, fresh or frozen fruit, milk (I like chocolate almond the best), Greek
yogurt, chia seeds, honey, and flax seeds. Put it in the fridge before
you go to bed, and in the morning, you will have a delicious, healthy breakfast
option.
Protein shakes: My favorite protein shakes are
chocolate protein powder, a frozen banana, cold coffee, and ice. I also
like to put in the scope of chocolate vegetable power to get my necessary
vitamins. Try the protein powder and vegetable power I use. It's
amazing.

Coffee: My last blog discussed mushroom coffee, and
I'm in love. Here's that link in case you missed it: https://amzn.to/3yXkrbm
Add chocolate protein or chocolate vegetable powder to your
coffee in the morning instead of cream, and you'll have a healthy mocha
delight.

Make moving a priority for your mental health, too
Because I started my new routine and I'm working at moving
more, eating better, and drinking more water, I'm in a better mood and have way
more energy. Don't just make eating changes. Moving is great for your
physical and mental health. If you struggle to get motivated to move, try
joining a gym and seeing a personal trainer. If you are feeling
unmotivated overall, you might be depressed and should talk to your doctor
and/or a counselor about what's going on and what might help. A lot of people
struggle with depression, so if that's you, you are not alone.
If you feel like you might harm yourself or someone else,
call or text the national suicide and crisis line anytime by dialing 988.
Make good drink decisions
Just drink water and skip the soda, tea and juice. If you need flavor, try adding lemon to your
water or even better orange and mint trust me it’s delicious! Care water with
you so you can keep it a priority. I
love my new water bottle for its carry strap and time reminder.
